GUSTAVO DUDAMEL AND MALHER CHAMBER ORCHESTRA FOR FUNDACIÓN “LA CAIXA”
Symphony
SYMPHONY is an internationally award-winning travelling experience created to bring the world of symphonic music and its greatest composers closer to audiences of all ages. Recognised as one of the most acclaimed immersive cultural experiences of recent years, the project has received some of the world’s most prestigious awards for creativity, innovation and audience experience.
Presented within a large-scale technological installation, SYMPHONY invites visitors on an immersive journey combining virtual reality, 360º imagery and spatial 3D sound. The experience features the collaboration of Gustavo Dudamel, one of the leading conductors of our time.
Commissioned by the “la Caixa” Foundation and conceived, written and creatively directed by Igor Cortadellas, the project is the result of more than two years of research, development and production, with the ambition of redefining the way classical music is experienced by contemporary audiences.
For the first time, visitors are invited to experience music from within a symphony orchestra itself. Rather than simply listening to a performance, they become part of it, sharing the musicians’ perspective, space and emotion.
Guided by Gustavo Dudamel, audiences discover the universal power of music — a language that transcends time, borders and cultures. His presence enriches the educational dimension of the experience, revealing not only how an orchestra performs, but also why music has accompanied humanity throughout its history.
Through music we express what makes us uniquely human: joy and sorrow, fear and serenity, longing and consolation, the need to love, and the profound questions that shape our lives.
SYMPHONY is an initiatory experience. Like the opening page of a remarkable book, it awakens curiosity, inspires emotion and invites us to keep turning the pages, discovering the transformative power of music.
